Frontline Technologies and Heidelberg to enter partnership
in New Zealand

Auckland, 4 December 2009: In parallel with Kodak and Heidelberg's announcement of a new partnership in Australasia, Frontline Technologies are pleased to announce a new and exclusive partnering arrangement with Heidelberg in New Zealand within the prepress arena.
The new partnering arrangement between Frontline and Heidelberg sees Frontline Technologies take responsibility for the sales and service of prepress equipment for Heidelberg and Kodak in New Zealand.
Jason Bult, Business Development Manager for Aarque Graphics Group, says "The Aarque Group of companies have had a long standing partnership with Kodak from large format inkjet through to proofing and commercial print technologies, giving us a broad expertise in Kodak's range of products. Under this new arrangement we look forward to bringing this same expertise to the benefit of a wider customer base in New Zealand."
Bill Wall, Heidelberg’s General Manager Consumables, said, "Heidelberg's decision to partner with Frontline in New Zealand is a logical extension of its distribution agreement with Kodak and its strategic consumables growth plans in Australia and New Zealand. Frontline is a key provider of prepress products in New Zealand and we are confident that by combining our resources we will deliver a comprehensive range of products and services throughout all
segments of the New Zealand print market."
Craig Paul, General Manager for Frontline Technologies, added, "We have enjoyed a strong partnership with Kodak and look forward to extending this relationship with Heidelberg. As an independent supplier we have been able to dynamically develop a range of unique valueadded services. By example our partnership with the association, Fogra, enables us to offer PSO (Print Standard Offset) certification, providing benefits to our customers of full compliance with ISO printing and proofing standards. “
Paul continued, "We are excited about the opportunities the new partnership will bring. It's business as usual for current supply.”
The new partnering arrangements between Kodak, Heidelberg, and Frontline Technologies, are effective January 1st, 2010.

Fogra Process Control
Colour management gurus: Craig Gemmell and Elton McAleer of Frontline Techologies WEDNESDAY, 28 MAY 2008 Frontline Technologies have opened the door for New Zealand print and prepress companies to gain Fogra certification as the move towards adopting worldwide ISO standards gains momentum. Frontline’s Integration Specialist, Elton McAleer, has received accreditation as a partner of Fogra, providing onsite support for certification of Process Standard Offset (PSO), the global benchmark for printing to ISO 12647-2 standards. As global print buyers begin to demand process standardisation from printers, the need to implement ISO compliant and ultimately certified production is rapidly becoming a priority for New Zealand printers. Printing Industries, the LIA and 3DAP in Australia have all announced their intentions to adopt the 12647-2 standards, a move welcomed by many New Zealand printers, some of whom have already implemented an ISO compliant workflow. The process of implementing a standardised workflow and gaining PSO certification requires good management and commitment from printers, but the rewards can be attractive, as Elton McAleer explains: "Our customers are finding that once we have helped them implement process controls, the pre-press, platemaking and presses all deliver a higher quality, more predictable and consistent result that meets the demands of the ISO specification. "With certified proofing, characterised plates and a standardised press, the printers are now able to run 'to the numbers' and match the proof with ease in less makeready time. "With the aid of tools like GMG Print control and RapidCheck, the printer is able to monitor their output closely, ensuring they remain within the tolerances of the standard." As the only official New Zealand-based Partner of Fogra, Frontline's McAleer is authorised to facilitate the testing procedure that a company is required to undertake in order to implement PSO. Upon analysis of the results by Fogra and BVDM in Europe, successful companies are awarded PSO certification. As an established solutions provider to the design, prepress and print markets in New Zealand, Frontline see process control as a vital part of any successful workflow. "ISO standardisation has been a buzz-word in our industry for some time now," says Craig Gemmell, operations manager of Frontline, "and we are confident that with our inhouse expertise, ISO certified product portfolio and unique status as a Partner of Fogra we can provide our customers with a real edge over the competition."
